I decided to create a separate page for my gardening so that I would be able to have everything in one spot as opposed to littered in my FB profile. Also, I have been tossing the idea of a blog, but I don't know if I have time to upkeep something like that - a lot of people can quickly browse FB so that's where I will be :) chronicling my garden life. If you go into the pictures tab, and then into
'albums,' the pictures are sorted by date and also a description included. I know gardening is not for everyone...I just discovered how excellent it is 5 years ago, but hopefully, if you are even slightly tossing around the idea of planting something edible - it is possible no matter what size place you have or even if you are starting with no yard at all, to grow something! Front yard, Back yard, No yard...if you have a pot...you can grow!(or in my case, start with a bathtub)
How long should this description be?? Without my awesome Chris - I would not have the awesome space that I do! He is the muscle, the builder, and a lot of the brains. I say what I want, and he comes up with something 10x better then I had imagined. I had zero interest in gardening until the girls started homelearning...gardening and homelearning go hand in hand right??!! The idea was that they could track the garden throughout the year. Their interest lasted at the most, 2 seasons, and they have moved on to other interests (which is fine with me because frankly, I go into the garden to zone out...its my zen...and they talk a lot! LOL) They will help if I ask though...good kids :)
A lady asked me the other day, why I decided to use containers. I like the containers - I like the colors, and I like the fact that I don't need to be bent over to work on everything in the garden. Also, I feel that I have less pests (slugs) with the containers. Anyhow, so I've never really thought about WHY I am actually using containers until it just spilled out of me...I use them for CONTROL! Yes I have control issues, and putting something in a container, allows me some control over how and where it grows. I came to this realization while standing among my volunteer pumpkin plant that has taken over too much space, on the ground, in my opinion. Another lady that I talked to, brought up the excellent point of the containers warming the soil for the plants - my peppers just love growing in the pots...something I never thought of until she brought that up. Anyhow, description could just keep going and going, cause I have a LOT to say, but that's it for now! Hope you enjoy looking at the pictures of the garden progress throughout the years, and more progress to come! Feel free to ask questions and give friendly advice...but if what I'm doing is not for you, or your don't like something that has been done, in short - if you are a TROLL, then unlike yourself from my page, and keep your opinion to yourself. My mantra is "if you say something negative, follow it up with at least one positive."
