These are 5 steps I never skip prior to applying my final coat of paint to ensure a smooth, uniform finish π€π½
βοΈ1. Pole Sand - a light sand over the entire wall with 150 grit to smooth out any imperfections from the first coat (hairs, flecks of paint, etc)
βοΈ2. Strain Paint - I always strain the paint used for my final coat through a paint strainer or cheesecloth to catch any chunkies that are sitting at the bottom of the gallon! Iβd much rather take 5 minutes to strain my paint than pick these pesky chunks out of my paint as I roll!
βοΈ3. Fresh Tray Liner - this prevents any dried paint from previous uses from peeling off into my fresh paint or onto my roller!
βοΈ4. De-Lint Roller Sleeve - Tightly wrapping my roller sleeve in painters tape then peeling it off pulls out any loose fibres from the sleeve. Nothing worse than those βlint-freeβ sleeves leaving lint in my paint!
βοΈ5. Cleaned/Fresh Brush - paint dried onto the base of the bristles or the brush handle can chip off into your cutting can and transfer onto the wall! A fresh brush keeps your final cut-in clean and smooth!
