This warm weather makes it hard to believe we are only 1 week away from Christmas!
Speaking of warm weather, how about a little rewind to the end of summer '17 and a large beautiful deck?!

Here is a little project that was a basic facelift on a main three piece bath. A new tub, new tile surround, new vanity and quartz counter top...finished off with new plumbing fixtures.
The toilet, flooring, baseboards and paint were all untouched. As such, this was a quick turnaround. With a little pre-planning (ordering the vanity and fabrication of the quartz), a facelift like this can happen in about a week!

How about a new custom ensuite bathroom?
This client had renos complete in other main rooms of their home and this bathroom was in need of an update to bring it up to s***f with the rest of the house!

This project was a full gut job down to the studs. A reconfiguration of the space was required so I built up different 3D model options for the client to consider. Considering the amount of technology that surrounds us these days, providing this service to my clients is a no-brainer!

The renovation features a new floor plan and all new everything including:
-Custom 33" x 73" tile shower (see photos comment for all the details)
-Wood look porcelain tile floor and baseboards
-Custom dual vanity and make-up table finished with quartz top
-Low flow skirted toilet (new location).
-Custom mirrors w/ hidden medcine cabinet
-New electrical including nickel GFCI plugs and nightlight plug
-LED vanity sconce lights
-LED pot lights in main area and shower
-New plumbing
-New door and bathroom hardware

Let's stay on the topic of gates shall we? This one, well, it's a little bigger!

This client had two long business units (each consisting of a tall van and enclosed trailer) to park securely on the property and the small 50 yr old double garage just wasn't going to work. So we took the garage down, extended the fence line and built a custom 24 foot wide gate system for the back of the property to create a functional space.

New 6x6 posts and custom cross braces were required to support the two dual 6 foot panel bi-fold gates from.

Heavy duty 6" greasable welded hinges and spring-loaded pneumatic castors were included in the design to keep the gates extremely easy to operate. You can literally open them with one hand. Very happy with the results!

Making the whole system secure, 6" lockable bolts were welded into place at the top and bottom of each pivot location and where the two gates meet. A cane bolt secures the gate centre into a pipe buried in the ground.

6" pressure treated boards complete the look - tying into the the new and the existing fence when the gates are closed.

So after a neighbour was over and saw the oak and glass baby gate that I made for our mini-me, I was contracted to make two matching baby gates for them.

These neighbours had a reclaimed wood coffee table, stool and kitchen table in their house so I used that for inspiration to make their gates.

I sourced my materials from used hardwood pallets to get just the right rustic look. Let me tell you, you have to tear down a ton of pallets (and the hardwood type are harder to find in the first place) to get enough straight[-ish] wood to start with! Then I still had to mill down many pieces to get straight, square stock for the project - all while trying to leave as much of the weathered surfaces as possible!

In the end, our neighbours got handmade, furniture quality pieces...a single swing gate with jams and a matching bi-fold gate.

Just like the baby gate that I made for us, these two once again contain almost 100% (latch and hinges were new). !
