Responsible for constructing and maintaining gardens
Plan job in an effective manner to ensure optimum job efficiency and effectiveness
Use and operate tools and equipment used in horticulture
Plant seeds and transplant seedlings
Tree, shrub, and plant examination and treatment
Care for growing plants by watering, pruning, weeding, cultivating, and removing dead or damaged leaf tissue
Inspect, handle, and transport nursery stock
Spread top soil and lay sod
Plant fertilization and watering
Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges
General lawn and garden maintenance
Operate power mowers, push mowers, tractors, snow blowers, electric clippers, pruning saws and other landscape maintenance equipment
Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments , shop + equipment
Assist with landscape constructions when needed
Complete daily paperwork tracking job time and material costs
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
Work Conditions:
Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Requires good manual dexterity
Excellent stamina is required
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work
Requirements:
Plant knowledge and identification, specifically trees, shrubs, and perennials
Physically fit
Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
Must possess a valid driver’s license
