🌱 A New Chapter Begins for Blueberry River First Nations 🌱

We are proud to announce that Chief and Council have officially approved the Native Plant Orchard Project on the lands formerly known as Chambers Land.
This is a BRFN-led project that represents a long-term investment in our Nation, our lands, and future generations. The Native Plant Orchard will help provide locally adapted native seeds and plants to support restoration work across Treaty 8 Territory while creating opportunities for BRFN members through employment, training, and community involvement.

🚜 Groundwork has now BEGUN.

Community members may notice workers on site in the coming weeks as preliminary site preparation and development activities get underway.

This project is about more than plants—it is about:
✅ Creates jobs, training, and growth for BRFN members and future generations.
✅ Is a long-term investment in restoring the land from the ground up.
✅ Provides locally adapted native seeds and plants to support restoration, cultural stewardship, and future opportunities.

We thank Chief and Council for their support and vision in moving this important BRFN project forward.

📅 Join us as we celebrate this milestone at the Native Plant Orchard Groundbreaking Ceremony on July 7th. More details will be shared soon.

Locally Rooted. Future Focused. For Future Generations. 💚

🌿 We’re Back — and Growing Forward 🌿

After the recent fire at the BRFN school, our team took some time to regroup and find a new space to continue our work.

We’re happy to share that Grandmother’s Greenhouse is officially back in the office — now operating out of a new rented location, and feeling more motivated than ever.

This season has reminded us of the strength of our community and the importance of the work we do together. We’re grateful for the patience and support we’ve received, and we’re excited to keep moving forward.

Once we’re fully settled in, we’ll be hosting a few open houses so you can come by, see the space, and connect with our team.

📍 More details to come soon — we can’t wait to welcome you in.

❄️ The busy season may be ending, but the work never stops!

We’ve been a little quiet this past month — that’s because our team has officially wrapped up our outdoor seed picking season and moved indoors! 🏠

Right now, we’re hard at work cleaning, sorting, and packaging seeds for cold storage. These carefully collected seeds will be planted in the spring to grow the next generation of native seedlings—supporting large-scale restoration projects across Treaty 8 territory that will help bring native plants back to our lands. 🌱

Over the winter months, our posts might slow down a bit as we focus on training, planning, and getting ready for another big growing season. Thank you for following along and supporting the work we do for the land, the people, and future generations.

Thank you for growing with us 💚
