Canada Beehives

Canada Beehives CanadaBeehives.ca manufacturers sustainable bee keeping equipment and specializes in Warre Beehives

Concerned about the decline of the honey bee population, CanadaBeehives.ca began researching for the beehive design which would promote the best in honey bee health. This led us to the Warre Beehive which is also known as the Peoples Hive. It was invented by Abbé Warré (1867-1951) after his experimentation with some 350 designs with the aim of producing a hive that was simple, economical, bee-fri

endly and assured a surplus for the beekeeper. Now some 75 years later the Warre Hive has greatly increased in popularity among bee keepers who choose to put bee health first. We, at Canada Beehives, are in the business of promoting honey bee health and chose the Warre Hive as our model for production because it supports this end. Warre Beehives are sold complete or can be purchased in parts on our website at www.canadabeehives.ca

More and more people are realizing the need to help the honey bees survive and thrive. Their drastic decline has been attributed to Neonicotinoids found in pesticides, loss of habitats to urbanization, illness and disease. Bees are essential to pollination which is a necessary process in the growing of our fresh produce foods. Please help do your part with planting bee gardens with bee friendly plants (this can be as simple as planting a large pot of flowers on your balcony if you are in an apartment, or ensuring you have some of the long list of bee friendly plants in your garden). If you want to go a step further, consider starting your own backyard hive with a Warre hive from CanadaBeehives.ca
Not only will you provide bees with a safe, bee friendly home but you will also reap the rewards of honey comb and pure unprocessed honey that is good for you. For me personally, our own fresh honey right from the honeycomb spread on a slice of toast is the first thing I reach for to get my stomach feeling better after an upset.
Helping the bees should be something we are all thinking about and actively doing our part in. It’s not just a good thing to do, they are essential to our survival.

It was party time for Bees and friends in the pretty hydrangea flowers in our gardens. They were not quite out in full bloom but that didn’t stop the visitors! Honey and bumble bees, ants and wasps all shared the bounty.

Beekeeping in the garden 2020 - Its business as usual for busy bees and Canada Beehives

This hive may be smaller than usual but it’s still a hive of activity in this Nuc hive.
Nucs, or nucleus colonies, are small honey bee colonies created from larger colonies. It is so named because its box is smaller size box, and the colony of honeybees is in it, and a nuc hive is centered on a queen bee, the nucleus of the honey bee colony.

We are still as busy as the Bees at Canada Beehives and continue to ship our great beehives across Canada as orders are received. Because we ship via Canada Post, delivery times have been slowed somewhat due to their current backlog. We are hoping this backlog at Canada Post will be caught up soon and delivery times will return to normal shortly.
