If your air plant looks like it grew a fuzzy winter coat, don't panic—it's actually showing off its built-in survival gear!

That "hairy" or frosted look comes from an exceptionally heavy concentration of trichomes, and it's most common in xeric species native to bright, arid environments (like Tillandsia tectorum). Those microscopic, hair-like scales serve two major purposes:
Extreme Sun Protection: They form a dense, silvery shield that reflects intense sunlight and insulates the plant against scorching heat.

Maximum Moisture Capture: The loose, fuzzy structure acts like a sponge, trapping every trace of mist, dew, or humidity in the air.

Care Note for Fuzzy Varieties
Because those dense trichomes hold onto water tightly, you don't have to water quite as often! Cool!

Plant lovers and vintage hunters, we’re keeping the doors wide open all weekend long—Labour Day included! 🌿✨

Yes, while the rest of the world is taking it easy, we’ll actually be labouring this Monday… but strictly for the greater good of humankind (which, naturally, means hooking you up with the freshest botanical art, plants, and all things green).

More than anything, doing these markets has introduced us to the honestly incredible people under this roof who we now consider an extended family.
