Everyone says, “We already upgraded to LED.”
And they’re not wrong.
Between 2015–2019, most facilities replaced T12/T8 fluorescent with first-generation LEDs. Rebates were strong, installs were fast, and visually, the lights still look new.
But lighting isn’t a one-time upgrade.
Most commercial LEDs have a 7–10 year lifecycle, which means many systems installed in 2016–2018 are now:
• Out of warranty
• Less efficient than today’s standards
• Experiencing driver failures, flicker, or colour shift
• Missing controls and incentive eligibility
This is why we’re seeing Wave 2 lighting upgrades across Ontario, not replacements, but optimization.
If your LEDs are aging, your savings probably are too. Change to LED 2.0 with us today!
