When you limb tree branches 2 meters from ground up and space trees 3 meters apart, this mitigation will reduce the chances of ladder and crown fires from happening. A crown fire will create embers that can be wind-blown as far as 2 kilometers. Crown fires are a lot harder to control than surface fires if dealt with quickly. Be proactive in reducing the fuel load around your home!
