During the past two weeks, it has been brought to my attention that certain home inspections companies have only been doing an hour and some 10 minute test for radon during a real estate transaction.
There are more that do it the right way then do it the wrong way.
Remember
1. 96 hour test by a certified machine, and not just a homeowners grade machine.
2. Get a full report! Don’t accept a picture of a machine with the level on the top.
3. Make sure the machine has been calibrated within that year. Professional devices have to be calibrated yearly to assure there accuracy.
4. Ask for a 90 day test to follow especially when you are doing real estate transactions in the summer.
5. Get a certified measurements professional to preform the test.
6. Find certified people on the CNRPP website.
