Our tour of the Montréal Botanical Garden on August 28 was an unforgettable journey through one of the world's most magnificent green spaces. We explored this 75-hectare oasis right in the heart of Montreal, marveling at its diverse plant collections and beautifully themed gardens. From the serene ponds of the Japanese Garden to the stunning displays in the Chinese Garden, every corner offered a new discovery. The First Nations Garden gave us a profound appreciation for the indigenous plants and cultures of Quebec’s First Nations. A special highlight was the Magic of Lanterns event, where the Chinese Garden came alive with enchanting light displays. It was a day of learning, beauty, and connection with nature.

Exploring the charm of Old Montréal was an absolute delight! We started our adventure at the stunning La Grande Roue de Montréal, followed by a stroll through the historic Marché Bonsecours. The evening was capped off with an incredible dinner cruise on the AML, generously sponsored by Garden Centre Group Co-Op Corp.

As we savored a gourmet 3-course meal, the breathtaking views of Montréal’s skyline and the illuminated Jacques-Cartier Bridge set the perfect backdrop. With a private floor just for us, live music, and a DJ, the night was filled with vibrant energy, dancing, and unforgettable moments under the stars.

Our visit at Les Jardins Michel Corbeil on August 27 was a true highlight! Established in 2006, this remarkable horticultural haven has become a cornerstone of Quebec’s commitment to environmental preservation and education. We explored over 9,000 square feet of vibrant nursery and gardens, including their inspiring monarch butterfly garden dedicated to pollinator conservation. Founded by the visionary Michel Corbeil and his wife Luz Cifuentes, the gardens beautifully blend innovation with a deep respect for nature and Canada's indigenous culture. Their award-winning dedication to excellence was evident at every turn. A must-visit for any plant enthusiast! 🌸🦋

Our visit to Montmorency Falls on August 26 was nothing short of breathtaking! Towering at 83 meters (272 feet), this stunning natural wonder is nearly 30 meters taller than Niagara Falls, and its beauty left us in awe. Located on the Montmorency River, the falls plunge dramatically into the Saint Lawrence River, offering visitors a majestic sight within Montmorency Falls Park.

We were honoured to experience the rich culture of Wendake, starting with a warm "Kwe!" from the locals. The evening began with a delightful dinner at Sagamité Wendake, sponsored by Green Solutions, where we indulged in authentic First Nations cuisine. The night continued with an enchanting, illuminated walk at Onhwa’ Lumina, located in Wendake. Along a 1.2 km pathway, we were immersed in the rich history and vibrant future of the Huron-Wendat nation through light, sound, and video projections. The ancestral rhythms and songs under the starry sky made it a night to remember!

The first stop of the IGCA tour of 11 garden centres across Quebec began at the Lévis location of Floralies Jouvence on August 26. Although it’s considered a smaller garden centre relative to the other stops on the IGCA tour, the plant quality and selection was an excellent debut visit for the delegates.
