Project Fulton, from every angle.

The kitchen often becomes the centre of a renovation, but its success depends on much more than finishes.

For this family, the goal was to create a space that felt calm, functional, and connected to the rest of the home. The palette is intentionally restrained, with a Scandinavian influence that allows natural light, texture, and proportion to take the lead.

What draws you in most — the warmth of the wood, the natural light, or the simplicity of the palette?

I can absolutely go with the flow… as long as the flow aligns with the project timeline, budget, vision, backup plan, and colour coded spreadsheet.

But honestly, learning when to hold the plan tight and when to surrender a little is half the job of running a business.

Bathroom vanities tend to carry more weight in a space than people expect.

They shape storage, circulation, lighting, and how the room functions day to day. Some are designed to disappear quietly into the architecture, while others become more of a focal point within the room.

A few past projects, each resolved a little differently depending on the home and the people living in it.

Project Summerhill is giving summer.

In neighbourhoods like this, additions need to feel carefully integrated into the existing fabric of the street. The goal was never for the new work to overpower the original home, but to extend it in a way that feels natural and connected to how this family lives today.

The third-floor addition created much-needed space within the house, while the backyard became an extension of the interior — a quieter retreat from the pace of the city and a place for this family of five to gather, unwind, and spend time together more easily.

Projects like this are often about balance. Respecting what already exists while thoughtfully shaping what comes next.

Project Fulton is well underway, and we thought we’d share a bit more of what the process behind a project like this actually looks like.

Long before construction begins, there are months of conversations, layout revisions, material studies, and coordination shaping the direction of the home. For this family, it started with rethinking how the ground floor could feel more connected, functional, and full of light.

It’s always rewarding to see those early ideas begin to take shape on site.

If you’ve been considering a renovation or new build and aren’t sure where to start, comment “MORE INFO” below and we’ll send over a bit more about our process and approach.

A well-designed kitchen is a balance of many elements — materiality, colour, texture, and function. From tile and flooring to hood vents and hardware, each decision is made to create a cohesive aesthetic that also supports how our clients live day-to-day.

Project Fulton — rear addition. With older Toronto homes, rear additions are often less about simply adding square footage and more about reshaping how the main floor functions day to day.

In this case, the addition allowed the kitchen, dining, and family spaces to connect more naturally to one another and to the backyard beyond. The goal was for it to feel integrated with the original home and supportive of how this family actually lives.

The impact of those moves is hard to understand fully in drawings alone, but once the walls open up and the light starts moving through the space differently, the house begins to feel entirely changed.

A simple breakdown to help frame the process →

We get this question all the time—especially as an architecture and interiors studio.

This is our way of bringing clarity from the start, setting expectations early, and defining how each discipline plays a role in shaping a project from concept through to completion.
