Since 2025 has come to a close, I want to personally thank the West Island community for another year of trust and support. Serving homeowners in this area continues to be something our team takes great pride in.
My name is Mikhail Lopez, and I currently lead the West Island Student Painters team and manage this page. Our mission is simple: deliver reliable, high-quality painting services while providing a professional, stress-free experience from start to finish.
Throughout 2025, we had the opportunity to work with nearly 240 homeowners, helping refresh and protect their properties across the West Island and nearby neighbourhoods. Maintaining a 95%+ satisfaction rate is something we work hard for, and it reflects the care our team brings to every project.

In the past years, I have dedicated a lot of time to my self growth, and to finding the next steps towards my success in life. I came to the realization that entrepreneurship is my path to creating a future full of excitement. It is no coincidence that Student Works Painting came into my life at the moment I needed it the most, to prove to myself that I can take on this amazing challenge and change my life for the best.
Managing my painting business gives me the opportunity to prove myself in this industry of home renovations as a young and motivated contractor. I have many goals, and the first one is to make homeowners happy, proud and satisfied to use my services and mostly to support local students. The logic behind what we do is to provide a hassle free service to people who do not have the time, materials and/or determination to take on yet another big project. We all have busy lives and I want to be busy painting your house so you have more time to spend on things you care about the most.
Another one of my goals is to create an amazing work environment for the students I hire to work with me. I believe the way I structure my business and the coaching and advice I give to the people around me can be very beneficial. I surround myself with the best leaders and students who have a eager to work hard and improve themselves

My confidence towards the success of my business this year comes from the numerous customer satisfaction reviews and references from my previous clients in the 2020 summer. 60 painting projects were completed by my teams both for interiors and exteriors projects.
We mostly get compared to “professional” painters, who are believed to be the only people adequate for painting projects. Professionalism comes from experience and adequate training therefore it is why we make sure to thoroughly train out painters and make them practice multiple times before the start of the painting season. We believe in learning by doing and our painters will be doing a lot of trials before painting your house. We take these previously build distrust and turned them into a desire to encourage students who care about your satisfaction and the quality of the work they produce. One of many things that separates me from the competition is the amount of time and attention I personally put into every single client and job that is taken care of under my business; every project counts.
After watching many University students run successful painting businesses with Student Works Painting last year, I acquired my own trust towards the great capability of students. It is now for the second year in a row my duty to serve your neighbourhood and bring value to your community. This journey is an important step in my professional career and I am doing my best to give an amazing experience to everyone I get to work with, from employees to clients to neighbours asking questions!
