Sometimes I arrive at a job and think to myself "Oh hell no" lol. I definitely felt this way to start this job but then I put on a dust mask, ported the window with a fan and realized a little efflorescence isn't the end of the world. This one got a scrape, wash and brush, priming 2 coats of elastomeric paint. The horror room is now cold room again. Client was really happy and now I'm painting the rest of the house. This house is going up for sale soon and this room will be a feature now rather than an eye sore.

Took on a fun project to start the new year. Faux cement look using paint. Massive 3 floor feature wall top to bottom. Was challenging but lightened the paint on the way down to accommodate for lowering light levels. I almost pulled my hair out a few times but was encouraged by the fun fearless home owner to keep going. Pretty happy with the final result.

Got this space ready just before the holidays. Had some drywall friends skim coat the walls to a perfect finish and collaborated on the painting with another painter and friend. Many thanks to Mike and Tim Ryan for the drywall magic and making the time. It pays to have pals in the biz. I helped with the sanding ;) only needed a few dips from a small can of Drydex after they left. The space went from shabby to chic and the floors were as perfect as they were when we arrived. Walls are painted with Sherwin Williams, Duration home in Pure White, ceilings are in Pure White using Sherwin Williams Pro Mar 400 and the trim was finished with Sherwin Williams Pro Classic again in Pure White.

I've been doing quite a few drywall repairs the last little while. This house unfortunately had quite a few cracks appear before the client wanted to move in so I put in a few days to do my best that they were repaired and not to return. Couple of trickier spots but the more I work with plaster the more I enjoy it the challenge so I enjoyed it. Very cool house with a ton of original and unique features.

This big exterior job finished the season for me. Full restore and repaint in Westmount. Benjamin Moore Aura in Spanish Olive and Black.. Very labour intensive and a satisfying result. Swipe for progress photos.
