The Atelier:

The Atelier: Carryalls for creators. Handmade in Montréal. The Atelier YUL: celebrates creators and the creative process.

Driven by founder Cece de la Montagne's own need for transporting architectural drawings, The Atelier YUL: started with a paper model of the Enveloppe and evolved into a collection of functional carryalls featuring contrasting textures and bold proportions. Inspired by Cece's passion for art and architecture, the Atelier YUL: establishes a new language for minimal carryalls that meet the unique ne

eds of creators. Rooted in Montréal, each product is handmade locally by master leather craftsmen using the highest quality materials.

BOOK CLUB: PHILOSOPHY OF THE HOME

Our book club is meeting Tuesday, September 9th from 5-6:30 PM EST to discuss our latest book: The Philosophy of the Home: Domestic Space and Happiness, by Emanuele Coccia.

This book explores an often overlooked topic in philosophy: the domestic sphere. Coccia questions what elements distinguish a house from a home. Through distinct chapters dedicated to different architectural spaces, the reader is asked to think about how the places we live our lives impact our relationships, our identities and our psyche.

Support your local bookstore and add this intimate read to your summer list. We look forward to meeting up and discussing this great read through everyone’s creative lens.

In grids we trust.

From objects at to architecture at , we keep coming back to the quiet beauty of the Cartesian grid—structure as poetry.

1. Seagram Building, Mies van der Rohe
2. Katsura Imperial Villa, Yasuhiro Ishimoto
3. Continuous Monument, Superstudio
4. Walking on the Wall, Trisha Brown
5. On weaving, Anni Albers

Now, more than ever, choose to be responsible. To read, be informed, make smart choices, debate. Reduce, reuse, and recycle. To shop responsibly. Collectively – let’s choose to buy less and buy better – to window shop, to add to cart, to mull it over, to phone a friend before ordering. Enjoy the wait, be patient, the best things take time. Know that your choice can make a difference and that, together, collectively it all adds up to make real change. Your voice does matter! So, talk more, listen harder and continue to be curious. Let us ask more questions, think longer, ponder deeper, make decisions, have opinions! And then, let us share it, say it out loud, discuss it, repeat it – with respect. Let us find the people, the others who care too. As a community, let us stand up for what we believe in. Organize, rally, support — and above all, love.

Share our mission if you agree.
🖤

With love,
THE ATELIER

Meet Box Tote ◼️

Just when we thought we couldn’t get any boxier, we created this versatile and portable blocky wonder.

Designed in response to Martina and Cece’s needs to tote around everyday objects from diaries to diapers to dog treats, notebooks, measuring tools, this 9.5 » x 11.5 » carryall offers space without being too big. Its extra long strap also allows a tight crossbody for those moments where you need to hop on a bike or run to a meeting.
