Wasn't the best weather day for pouring concrete -- but at least it was warm! Happy to have spring back on the radar. Section 1 of 3 for an overhead to underground service upgrade is well underway!

After a long winter season we are thankful that all of our buildings survived the snow load on our farm, but have seen many around us deal with the devastating loss of many different buildings. We discovered water run off flowing underneath the cabin up in Chapleau, so the excavator made a trip to create a berm and dig a new route for the spring run off to travel. Keep an eye in spring if you see water heading toward your house and give us a call to have a look! 705-826-0206

Well, the water line decided to let go Friday, new ones were in planning so I guess that was the right plan! Mike hooked up a temporary supply to get through the weekend and now the trench work begins for the new lines to the house, and then barn following.

Give us a call if you have been thinking you *should* do something, don't wait for it to happen to you unscheduled! Thankfully - this one didn't happen during winter.

Most recent septic replacement in the books, this was a full replacement of a failed septic in Horseshoe Valley. It's never fun when a major component to your house fails, but we hope to take as much stress out of that for you as we can!

The average lifespan of your septic system is 20-30 years, it can be on either side of this depending on use/maintenance.

Here are some signs of a failing septic system to look out for:

🚩 Standing water or damp spots near the septic area.
🚩 Bad odors around the septic area.
🚩 Bright green, spongy lush grass over the septic area, even during dry weather.
🚩 Water and sewage backing up into the home.
🚩 Fixtures drain very slowly.
🚩 Gurgling sounds from your plumbing fixtures.

Beautiful day to expand this area beside the shop. I have learned you can never go wrong with more parking spots .. especially when those new parking spots are out of sight from the house! (and no Mike this is not blind approval to add endless parking spots 👀👀)
