Between coats — sand lightly. That’s it. That’s the tip.

A quick pass with 220-grit sandpaper after your first coat dries. You’re not stripping anything. You’re just knocking down the tiny bumps and raised fibres the paint pulled up.

Takes two minutes. Changes everything.

Your second coat goes on smoother. It sticks better. The finish looks like you actually knew what you were doing.
