Shack in the back was started in 2023 by Jacob Campbell and Ashley White. We love to create not only the items we sell, but the smiles and joy that comes with it. Ashley is in charge of our stuffed creature care. She carefully chooses colours and yarn to bring these lovable stuffies to life. Jacob is the operator of the factory (now hiring Oompa Loompas) Jacob 3D prints and laser engraves gizmos and gadgets with a side of signs, cutting boards and tumblers.

Ready to learn crochet in a warm, welcoming setting? 🧶

Our September and October schedule includes beginner crochet classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, plus a Wednesday evening Animal Crochet class for creating adorable animals while learning essential stitches and techniques.

Classes are capped at 6 learners to keep the experience friendly and hands-on. For Animal Crochet, yarn is provided, but students must bring their own hooks.

A little behind-the-scenes reveal from our latest market setup! 💙

Our old grey canopy is officially retiring, and we’re welcoming this bright turquoise ABC canopy to the Shack In The Back family. We’re still working on a few more design changes, so the finished look may still be a little while away: but we’re already loving the extra headroom and roomier feel!

It has the same footprint as our old canopy, but sits higher, giving us more headroom and a roomier feel for displaying our handmade crochet critters, 3D-printed creations, and other treasures at upcoming markets.

A heartfelt thank you to Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park for having us at the Savannah Marketplace & Member Appreciation Day on August 22. We’re so grateful for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to be part of such a fun and welcoming community celebration.
