Oakleigh Worm Tea

Oakleigh Worm Tea Healthy soil, happy plants! Oakleigh Worm Tea is a worm farm that brews and sells aerated vermicompost tea.

Worm castings have greatly improved the fertility of our sandy soil - with the tea we can add these benefits throughout the growing season.

🪱🌱 Tomorrow Night: Worms at Work! 🌱🪱

The Garden Club is meeting tomorrow at 7:00 PM at the Community Garden for a little weeding, a little learning, and a whole lot of worm talk. (Yes… this is what our lives have become, and honestly, we’re okay with it. 😄)

We’ll start with a garden clean-up session, then gather in the gazebo for a short, hands-on worm composting demonstration covering:
🪱 Setting up a worm bin
🪱 Keeping your worms happy and productive
🪱 Harvesting worm castings
🪱 How worm tea is made
🪱 Building an in-ground worm bin for the Community Garden

Come see how tiny worms can do some seriously impressive work for gardens, soil, and compost piles.

Bring gloves, garden tools if you have them, and your curiosity. New members and curious visitors are always welcome!

Warning: You may leave unexpectedly interested in worms. 🪱😂

Hi! Thanks so much to everyone who responded to the sustainability post — we really appreciate the interest.

We’re planning a casual coffee chat at the golf course on Friday, February 6 at 2:00 to share ideas. Along with general conversation, we’d also like to discuss setting up a page and coming up with a name for the group.

I know the timing won’t work for everyone (sorry about that!), but hopefully the page will make it easy to follow along and participate. If you’re able to join us, an RSVP would be appreciated. If you can’t join us on the 6th but have an idea for a name, please send it on!

Thanks again for the encouragement and support!

Casual Sustainability Conversations – Anyone Interested?

A few of us have been chatting lately about simple, grassroots ways we could make our community a little more sustainable — nothing formal, just good ideas and good conversation.

Some of the ideas that have come up so far:
• Green Cones for food waste
• Yard waste composting options
• A Repair Café where people can fix, mend, and learn together

We’re very much in the idea-sharing stage and would love to hear from others:
* What sustainability ideas would you like to see explored locally?
* What’s worked well in other communities?
* What's something you do that makes a difference? I'd love to hear about the little things, done regularly, that make a difference!

If there’s enough interest, we’re thinking about getting together for a casual coffee at the golf course to swap ideas and see what might be worth exploring together. No pressure, no commitments — just like-minded folks and conversation.

Interested?
Share an idea in the comments, drop an emoji, or say “coffee” if you’d be up for a casual meet-up at the golf course.

Let’s see where this could grow 🌿

Worms, tea, and soil magic — that’s how we grow things around here! 🌿

I know I’m not the only one still flipping through this year’s seed catalogues – and watching for next year’s! In the meantime, how about a treat for your house plants? Or starting your own worm bin – or a brewer?

We hope you’ll stop by our booth on Saturday - we’ve something new for Christmas! And we love to talk about worms 😊
