You don’t need a farm or even a garden to grow potatoes!
Right now, the McKenzie potato bags are on sale for $10 at the Home Hardware in 100 Mile. I bought some eight years ago, and they are still going strong. (Unlike my New Year's resolutions, which usually last eight days).
Why these bags are a lazy gardener's dream:
Zero shoveling: At harvest time, you literally just dump the bag over. No digging, no back pain, no accidental potato stabbing.
The "Sneak Peek" window: They have a built-in Velcro flap. You can literally reach in, steal a few potatoes for tonight’s dinner, and let the rest of the plant to keep working.
Renter-friendly: Perfect if you run out of yard space or have a landlord (or non-gardening spouse) who frowns upon you converting the front lawn into a local agricultural hub.
No drowning: They drain perfectly. Even if you overwater them in a fit of panic, your spuds won't rot.
Who is growing their potatoes in a potato bags this year?
