Tiling this fireplace was no small feat. Between the intricate layout, the mantle, and the Tetris-like pieces that required some serious problem-solving, it certainly kept me on my toes.

And let’s not forget the black stone dust—it coated me head to toe, making it look as though I’d spent more time inside the chimney than working on it.

In the end, the clients were absolutely thrilled to have it ready just in time for winter.

Upgrading this kitchen backsplash and side prep/coffee station was a delightful project.

The client requested a clean, but modern subway tile for the main kitchen area, prioritizing ease of maintenance and a subtle aesthetic.

The real enjoyment came with the prep/coffee station. We chose a patterned tile to infuse some vibrancy and colour into the space, enhancing its character.

Small upgrades like these can truly transform your living environment and offer great value to your home.

Renovating this ensuite was truly a journey for me. From stripping away the floor-to-ceiling mosaic tiles (and the drywall with them), to ditching that plastic shower insert (a lesson for everyone!), and levelling the floor in this old home addition—it was quite the undertaking. Plus, there was the task of installing heat where no vent existed before.
During demolition, I even managed to strain my back while jackhammering the old marble tile, which put me out of commission for a few days.
Through it all, the clients were incredibly understanding and patient as we encountered unexpected challenges like moving electrical, adjusting plumbing, and uncovering past water damage. Their support and trust made a world of difference.

In the end, the results surpassed their expectations. I installed in-floor heating to address their comfort needs, created a custom shower base to open up the space, and adorned the shower and vanity wall with elegant 2’x4’ tiles.

Now, the ensuite feels remarkably more spacious and inviting—a true transformation that I'm proud to provide for amazing folks.

I love coffee. And, I’m as particular about it, as I am about my tile work. It has to be precise - the beans, the grind, the pressure, all coming together to make the perfect cup.

When I was asked to build the counter for the La Marzocco, it was like being asked to build a platform to show off a Ferrari.
The concept was straight forward: a mix of County heritage, with timeless modernism.
The “cube” initial design was then expanded to integrate with an old counter bar.
The challenge was accepted, and created with the help of Andrus who built the structure. The next part was to waterproof the top of the counter, create the spaces for necessary jug wash, wires, and water hoses, attach the ‘Jolly’ trim, and apply the 2x2 tile.

The result: the perfect cup.

This beautiful Milford reno was a large undertaking, to say the least. 3 bathrooms, a galley kitchen, the front foyer, and a wet bar, just to name the tile work that went into this. The outcome is a stunning retreat to escape to (hot yoga space, sauna + Japanese soaker tub included). If you get a chance to book a stay in this charming getaway, have a look at the before & after work just in the kitchen, and the rest of the amazing work done in this home!

This is the transformational journey of a guest/auxiliary bathroom adjacent to the home gym, from conceptualization to realization.
The vision for this space centred around seamless integration and functionality. To achieve this, large 48”x48” format tiles blend effortlessly with the concrete floors. The endeavour to bring this vision to life was indeed a labor of dedication and perseverance.
Key features of this project include a custom shower base, wrap-around tile format, and a meticulously mitred-edged curb, all designed to maintain the clean, modern aesthetic that characterizes the residence. Additionally, the incorporation of a glass door and black fixtures promises to add the final touch of sophistication to the overall ambiance.

During tiling processes, adjustments are sometimes necessary. In the case of this particular bathroom, despite the floor being laid and grouted, a challenge arose: the bathtub drain was positioned incorrectly. This required some careful plumbing adjustments from the floor underneath (by a plumber), especially considering the presence of hydronic heating throughout the floor.
The task at hand was intricate: cutting a new hole for the fl**ge through the tiled surface to reach the subfloor, all while avoiding any damage to the hydronic pipes. Additionally, there was the need to cap and conceal the existing drain with a specially fitted piece that would ultimately be hidden by the tub.
Although the endeavour proved physically demanding, it was approached with humility and dedication to delivering quality work. Ultimately, the outcome was met with the client’s satisfaction, which remains the most rewarding aspect of the job.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with this client whose aesthetic preferences aligned so perfectly with a modern design ethos, and which beautifully complemented the existing open-concept layout of their bungalow.
Incorporating a heated floor into the design was a delight, not just for its luxurious feel but also for the comfort it brings, especially during those chilly months. Ensuring every detail blended seamlessly, I carefully integrated a tiled vent that not only maintains the clean lines of the space but also offers essential ventilation. Opting for large subway tiles helped create a contemporary backdrop, giving the room an airy, spacious feel. And the addition of a Quartz-wrapped window sill harmonizes with the smooth surfaces elsewhere. Altogether, these elements came together to craft a bathroom that feels not only sleek and modern but also warmly inviting and cohesive.
