Why Primer is important after patching wall repairs
Photos are from one client in Markham trying to DIY due to water leak, he patched the ceiling with drywall compound but he painted over it without applying primer, few days later, he noticed the paint started to peeling and he contacted us to help
The reason for this issue is because there is lots of dust after sanding, without primer to seal the surface, the paint contact the dust causing this bonding issue for the paint
How to solve this issue? Remove the loose paint with putty knife as much as possible and then repatch the area , sand , prime and paint. if the repair area is too big , it is better to replace the drywall
