Did you know that at GEI Consultants, Savanta Division, we have continued to advance critical field-based studies to capture ecological data despite the COVID-19 outbreak?

Our staff practice physical distancing during field monitoring events to maintain personnel safety. For the 2021 field season, we will continue to implement measures to protect the health and safety of our employees and to ensure we are delivering for our valued clients. We continue to conduct fieldwork as long as project sites are accessible.

Spring triggers the start of our fieldwork season and there are key seasonal windows of wildlife movement in Ontario that are important to sample to fully understand the landscape.

For a snapshot of key seasonal survey windows, please download our calendar which shares our interpretation of the general timing of key wildlife movements.

GEI-Savanta will be presenting at the Climate Change and Asset Management Virtual Conference, hosted by AMONtario on March 22, 2021.

“Integrating Climate Change into Asset Management, A Framework for Municipalities – Part I” GM BluePlan and GEI-Savanta have developed a framework to integrate climate change considerations into asset management planning and decision support analysis. A collaborative pilot project is being undertaken with five municipalities in the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area to implement the framework through a multi-phased approach. This presentation will provide an overview of the pilot framework, approach, and summarize findings from Phase 1, a customized climate event probability analysis that was completed for each municipality that confirmed important climate events and thresholds that have impacted AM and level of service (LOS) historically. The probability analysis results will be carried through the remaining phases of the project which will be presented during Part II of the virtual conference in April.
