Tart, sweet and just right! 🐞🍓

This farm-fresh Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp is everything we love about summer— sweet strawberries, tart rhubarb, and the buttery, golden crumbly oat topping is..... PERFECT! 🍓

Our Rhubarb will be available SOON!
I'm making ours this week with frozen rhubarb and strawberries from last year. In a few weeks we will be picking, chopping and bagging fresh rhubarb from the garden and getting our freezers stocked up for recipes all year. 😆

This recipe tastes like summer as is, it's incredible even cold, but we think it's BEST warmed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! 🍨

Hey everyone!

Just an update for this year's 2026 gardening season.

Our garden is planted, fruit trees are blossoming.

Our U-Pick and general farm (animal) area is still CLOSED this season.

But..... mom planted a full family garden and will have some extras to sell to you Pre-Picked. ❤️🌻🐞

Some items will be pre-order/pick up and as we have more vegetables fruit and flowers available we will set up a Farmstand set up in the garden centre and list hours and times it will be open. The farmstand will be faith pay (leave your payment in good faith in a drop slot- cash only.)

We will post details here on our page as soon as it is open and items come available.

Rhubarb will likely be our first item and will be pre- order/ pick up.

In the next few weeks we will post some links to our rhubarb recipes for you to try! You will notice we have a new website - Harvesting Happy!

Feels like a big spring hug out here! 🌺🤗

Our greenhouse journey continues. My sis and I couldn't wait any longer to take the relaxing drive together out to GreenThumb Greenhouse again this year.

It is 50 minutes west of Spruce Grove, near Evansburg, but I promise it's a special place you need to visit! Tarryn couldn't help herself.... she loaded up and I got some final uniwie basket fillers and my dahlias!
This our favorite greenhouse we go to to fill our flower planters. 🌻

Amy is so sweet and has it stocked and full of a large variety of incredibly healthy flowers in every color. We found a good amount of tomato and herb varieties as well....mint especially!

Please take a road trip and visit! So many choices and I love the little gift shop! Bring your favourite person with you! ❤️

The Purple is so vibrant and reaches about 8 feet wide and high at maturity.

Very hardy and produce beautiful berries
Ready to plant! If you haven't tried them in smoothies you are missing out.. amazing flavor! High antioxidant berries!

Took a trip to Golden Greenhouse greenhouse on Sunday. They are in Parkland County about 20 minutes outside of Spruce Grove. We haven't been here in a good few years but out was nice to visit again and see an expansion on the front check out/in area! There is even a latte/ drink area now. 😊

I loved their labeling system. Clear large labels by each item with a name, description etc. It made it so easy to find what I needed. 👍

They had incredible selection of tomatoes and peppers most I've seen so far at any Greenhouse. I even found the mortgage lifter tomato.... lots of great heirloom varieties here. 🌱🍅

I grabbed their last sweet potato, but they still had a good amount of strawberries. I haven't seen this variety but it is for our Zone 3 and is an everbearing variety. 🍓

Lots of flowers here, some great baskets and a beautiful selection of Geraniums and so many more...🌻 Check them out soon!

Look what we found! ....🏎🏡🌱

Is this anyone else's favorite time of the year? Finally feeling like we're getting out of hibernation. It's definitely one of ours! The sometimes dreaded clean up begins but also the excitement of spring and summer to come.🌞😎

We have made it to three greenhouses so far, I'm hoping to visit about 6 to 8 this year.... do I/we have a problem..... probably definitely! But it's so fun. 😚🤯

So we were off to another local gem on Sunday last weekend the Local Nursery - Spruce Grove .🏡

I love how every Greenhouse has different finds and has different prices.....t's like a treasure hunt 👍🤪

We found a great selection of specialty peonies and for under $25. We also found they had some really cool mint varieties. I ended up getting some apple mint....I didn't see this one last year? 🍏

We were on the hunt since Greenhouse #1, for Mom's favorite double geranium. And we found it here! And of course we found another beautiful double variety. 🌺

I saw a new flower variety I've never seen before.... or have missed....Lewisia ❤️

Also one of the best parts, we finally found honeydew, cantaloupe and yellow doll watermelon! We haven't seen melons at any other greenhouse so far. 👏💐 The prices were seemingly a bit cheaper here in general.

Local Nursery and Greenhouses is about 15 minutes from Spruce Grove. Might as well go and check them out fun thing to do on a rainy weekend!

Feeling very springy after a walk through our local Canadian Tire this week! 🌷🌞

They’re fully stocked with Canadian seed brands, including a great selection of McKenzie seeds — lots of organic options too 🇨🇦🌱 Plus, tons of planting and garden supplies to get those ideas flowing! 🧠

We haven’t started any seeds indoors just yet. ⏳ This week is all about sorting, planning, and making a small seed order since we still have plenty of seeds left over (and a bit of seed saving happening too 👍😁).

Our advice: get your seeds early while the racks are stocked and selection is plentiful! 🌱🌷

Bonus: This week I spotted some really good deals — silicone bakeware 🧁 and plenty of McKenzie seeds and garden goodies! 🏡🌿
