The presentation renderings with all proposed addition coloured while existing to remain shown raw.

Unfortunately this client experienced some personal setbacks and had to put this project on hold. I very much do hope it comes back to life as I look forward to completing it and seeing the final product.

The exterior design and envelope concept for this Pemberton meadows project was to implement new with old with a seamless transition.

A torch-on roof clad with vertical wood slat panels to match the proposed walls of the indoor/outdoor space enclose northwest to northeast collapsible wall corner. The transition from roof to wall would feature a hidden gutter to maintain the visual continuity.

This design strategy focuses its attention to the opened up, unobstructed view that the client seeked while creating an airy summer condition. This collapsible corner would be outfitted with concealed operable bug screens while also providing open deck space.

This Pemberton meadow client wanted to replace their rotting open second floor deck with an indoor/outdoor space that would showcase an unobstructed view of the mountain range to the north.

We also used this overhanging space to create a sheltered deck off the main floor that wrapped around to the west with an arcade concept.

The existing storage/mechanical space accessed from the exterior kept its location and orientation but was re-built and expanded.

While the desired direction I would like to take with my services are in single family dwelling custom homes and carriage houses, I am also asked to do small jobs like renovations and additions, home improvements that require a zoning, building code compliance and a building permit with myself representing the tenant.

This City of Coquitlam project was for a basement addition and a deck above living space. The client wanted to create a space for their parents when they would be in town, segregated from the main dwelling space.

As is the case with renovations and additions, it can be tricky to navigate a clients unique requests while working with an existing built dwelling, grandfathered bylaw and code compliance and satisfying the city's interpretations of your proposal and their bylaw.

The city was convinced that this served as a secondary suite and that we needed to meet those requirements. It didn't take much to get them on board with the design intent though diplomatic navigation was required.

Another City of Vancouver collaboration with Eric Stine Architect in Point Grey.

Fitting right into the character streetscape of Point Grey a more rustic aesthetic rather than modern was the theme. Stone clad columns, generous wood trimmed windows and doors, stone/stucco cladding, bargeboard trim and gable ends at front and back.

This property features a 2 storey main dwelling, secondary suite and laneway house.

This 2018 triplex development was another collaboration with Eric Stine Architect in the City of Vancouver. The crux of this project was the bylaws and how we could make comfortable and efficient space to fit three units on this lot. Also featured on this lot was a detached two car garage, parking pad and a bike shelter to accommodate 9 bikes in individual storage lockers, as required by the city for a project this size.

In 2017 I teamed up with Eric Stine Architect to create this clean and efficient coach house in the City of Vancouver. This project was proposed as a laneway house this lot does not feature access from a lane. A case and presentation was made to the Board of Variance allowing for it to come to life.

The existing perimeter cedar hedges and orientation of the dwelling and layout made for a lot of privacy in this +10' ceiling, green roofed design.
