This week’s perennial of the week is Tiarella Fingerpaint!

Commonly known as Fingerpaint Foamflower, Tiarella Fingerpaint is a gorgeous herbaceous perennial. Lovers of coleus will adore the lush, deep green leaves with rich burgundy midribs and veining. Standing at 9” tall and 12” wide, Tiarella Fingerpaint is a beautiful, compact shade-loving perennial that acts as a beautiful filler plant in shaded garden beds or containers.

Tiarella Fingerpaint’s blooms are a delicate white flower that stands just above the mounding foliage. The blooming period runs from early spring to early summer, and blooms and foliage are both deer-resistant.

For best results, grow Tiarella Fingerpaint in a part shade to full shade area, with moist, well-draining soil. With that, your Tiarella will be looking lovely and lush and be able to be enjoyed all season long! Who doesn’t love a low-maintenance shade-loving perennial? Introducing our perennial of the week, Gaura!

Also known as Bee Blossom, Butterfly Plant, or Wand Flower, Gaura is a gorgeous, compact, mounding perennial standing at 12-18” tall and 12-14” wide. Gaura is an attractor of many pollinators, but especially hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees, and is generally deer and rabbit resistant. Its beautiful, delicate flowers look striking against its darker foliage and bloom continuously all season long, making it the perfect addition to any garden!

For best results, plant in full sun in well-draining, loamy soil. Gaura does not like having wet feet and is incredibly drought tolerant, making it ideal for our hot maritime summers.
