Starting them young 🌱

First time starting ( propagating ) plants from seed from home , small 40 cell seed starting kit ( from Amazon ) led lights, heat mat , built in temperature reader/ thermometer! So far I have started some Kiwi plants and Red Abyssinian Banana plants , more to come , awaiting arrival !

The Chiquita banana creates 40-60lbs of fruit per year ! Better wind tolerance than other bananas. Dies to ground in a freeze and regrows. Great houseplant in a sunny warm room.

These banana plants are known for their ability to withstand temperatures as low as -29•C when properly mulched , making them the most cold-hardy banana plant available. Fruit is not edible, this plant is grown purely for its ornamental value

Hey everyone ! Welcome to my page She’s Bananas ! With 10 years experience in horticulture ,(Herbs , Vegetables and flowering hanging baskets ), I’ve developed an interest outside of work in my own gardening and Tropical plants . As here in Canada with our colder climates these are sparse mostly found outside in our patios during the warm months and inside by our sunny windows!
