Designs After Dark: Why Lighting Matters ✨

🏡 Fence + Shed Reveal in Scarborough

We’re kicking off the 2025 season with a clean, secure upgrade in the Beaches.

What used to be a worn-down fence line and tired cedar trees is now a private, functional space with bold black finishes, upgraded lighting, and a custom shed built to last.

We also reinforced the yard with a small retaining wall and made sure every detail, from the gate locks to the corner trim, was dialed in.

We wrapped up this backyard transformation in the Beaches just before Christmas and it’s still one of our favorites. We replaced the old wood deck with low-maintenance Trex decking in Rocky Harbor, refreshed the fence with Cutek stain, and added some awesome features like a built-in kitchen island, custom lighting, and a full storage bench. Even tied in the window wells with a custom grate from Hideaway Screens for a clean, finished look.

Not a huge yard, but we made every square foot count. Big thanks to our amazing clients on this one. More to come!

Here’s a closer look at this beautiful deck we built on this project!

The product is Island Mist from the Transcend line. Showcasing a cool medley of calming silver tones, Island Mist mimics the weathered look of driftwood, with its true-to-nature vibrancy and realistic grain pattern.

To illuminate the space at night we added two Diamond Mini fixtures to each riser on the staircase. Swipe ⬅️ to the end for a night shot!

Finishing it off we have our custom black aluminum and glass handrails!

A simple space that is virtually maintenance free. Now this backyard is much more inviting than before!

The deck area has enough room to easily set up separate dining and lounge spaces. We also installed artificial turf for the little ones to play on and a simple walkway to lead our clients to their garage.
