We are planting our garden tomorrow. After last night's risk of frost, this week's rains should provide for great conditions for early root development. Happy Planting!!

We are preparing to start the tomato seeds over this weekend. We are also watching the progress of our recently planted leeks. They are coming along nicely. Let us know if you have any questions about your seeds.

We are already planting seeds for this coming season. Looking forward to starting the tomato seeds in the coming weeks.

25cm of fresh fluffy snow shouldn't stop you from enjoying fresh veggies from your garden. These leeks were dug from our garden in late fall, placed in a pot, covered with landscape fabric, and stored in our unheated garage. Allowed to freeze and thaw with our winter weather, we recently brought them into the basement cold space to thaw out. Now they are ready to enjoy. Fresh and sweet.

On Thursday May 22, we partnered with the Wedgewood Family School Association to create three vegetable garden beds for Wedgewood Public School. The gardens will be maintained by the students and staff of the school's Eco Club, and this event was part of a new program focusing on teaching kids about the environment and making healthy food choices. Only a handful of schools in Toronto have edible gardens on their grounds, and we were thrilled to help Wedgewood lead the way in this area by hosting this interactive learning project!
