Lets talk about saving money and time! Especially with grill season coming up :)
I love having a big meat shop at costco! We go once a month, filet my chicken breasts and break up all my ground beef into portions for the month. It's more financially friendly to buy in bulk! So here is a couple tips on how to freeze your beef and how to save time on making burgers!
Freeze your ground beef flat!
I weigh my ground beef into whatever portions I want, we typically use 1.5 pounds but everyone is different! I do this using the Digital Kitchen Scale Item # 100271. Once I have it weighed, it put in a freezer bag and I use my Rolling Pin ( #100052) to flatten the beef in the bag. This way, it's easier to store in my freezer and it thaws quicker! Plus if I forgot to take the beef out, I can put it in my 10" Nonstick Pan ( #2087) and it will cook more evenly and quicker than if I have it bundled in a frozen ball. It's also a lot easier to break up with my Mix n Chop ( #2583) when it's cooking from frozen like this.
2. Making Burgers in Bulk
When you make your own burgers, you save money! and time. I love having a bunch of burgers in my freezer for those days that I just don't feel like cooking or don't know what to cook! I also always keep a big bag of frozen buns just in case! You're probably thinking that making burgers is such a pain in the butt - but not anymore! I use my Burger & Slider Press ( #1174) - There is a reason this has such great reviews! It saves so much freaking time it's crazy. I enjoy making burgers now! I make the slider size ones for my littles.
I hope this helps a little with groceries and time!
