Now Stuart (owner/ arborist) and his wife Natalie ( office manager) run the family business. With 20+ years in the industry and working in various countries in Europe and around the world, he has chosen to call the foothills of the Rocky Mountains home. Having now been here for nearl

y 10 years there is no better place to be and to help care for the trees in Rocky View County. Stuart has a great passion for competition climbing. This alongside his work experience demonstrates the skills of a working arborist and the safety that it requires to rescue an injured climber. He won many competitions and qualified for the world championships in 2005 & 2007 and he placed 7th overall. He also travelled to Hong Kong for tree climbing demonstrations which was a great honour.

This chokecherry had started to get a little out of control — overgrown, crowding the property, and encroaching on both the front walkway and sidewalk.

With some careful pruning and proper structure work, we brought it back to a clean, healthy form. By re-establishing a strong central leader and thinning out excess growth, the tree is now:

✔️ Well-balanced and structurally sound
✔️ Pulled back from the house
✔️ Providing a clear, welcoming path to the front door
✔️ Safely cleared above the street sidewalk

🚫🌳 Elm Pruning Season is Closed (for now!)

Last week marked the end of elm tree pruning season, and we’re officially holding off until October.

Why the pause? Elm trees are highly susceptible to Dutch elm disease, which spreads more easily during the warmer months when beetles are active. Pruning during this time can increase the risk of infection—so timing really matters.

If you missed the window this year, no worries—we’ll be back at it in the fall. In the meantime, if you’re unsure about the health of your elm or have concerns, we’re always here to take a look and offer advice.

This maple was starting to take over more than just its space… 🌳➡️🚶‍♂️

From now until the end of March, scheduled street tree maintenance will be taking place to help keep our neighbourhood trees healthy, safe, and well-maintained.
