Vegreville Plumbing & Heating Ltd. is an established and respected business in Vegreville (100KM East of Edmonton). We are accepting applicants for an Apprentice Plumber to join our team. We offer a great environment to work and learn the trade. You will be exposed to all areas of the industry including service and new construction for residential, commercial and industrial.

The ideal candidate will be a good team member, organized, motivated, and dependable and a positive assistant to our Journeyman Plumbers. Bring a positive attitude with the ability to follow directions and work as a team. With a strong commitment to quality workmanship and pride in your work.

Duties are to assist and work under the supervision with Journeymen to:
** locate and mark the positions for connections and fixtures
** cut holes through walls and floors to accommodate pipes
** measure, cut, thread, bend, clamp, solvent cement or solder pipe
** assemble and install valves and fittings
** join pipe sections and secure them in position
** test pipe systems for leaks
** install underground storm sanitary and water piping system
** install fixtures and HVAC equipment
** service and maintain HVAC systems

During this cold snap we want to take a moment to thank all our dedicated employees. They have been servicing roof top units, boilers, furnaces, garage heater and make up air units all week and until all hours of the night.

Hey Country 106.5 we were listening to Doc Talk as we always do here at our office. Now we may have misheard, but Dr. Dan said something about shutting off your fresh air intake to avoid getting smoke in your house. People might think he is talking about the fresh air intake for a furnace, boiler or on demand hot water heater. Many new home appliances draw the air they will use for combustion from outside and then expel the combustion air back out. We wanted to make sure your listeners understand, the fresh air and the air in your house never mix in these appliances. The fresh air is used in a sealed combustion chamber. It then passes through a heat exchanger and then is expelled back outside as exhaust. Plugged or obstructed fresh air intakes are a common causes of issues.
