Come along with us as we transform this area of lawn into a high production cut flower garden!

I had high hopes of removing the grass by hand, but the roots were DEEEEEP, and after 3 hours and barely any progress I decided that dealing with the grass and weeds popping up throughout the season.

We rented a rototiller, and I called in reinforcements to help me get it started, and a few hours later we had fresh, workable soil and the garden was ready for what’s next!

Welcome to BX Blooms 🌸

A small cut flower garden in Vernon, BC.

This season I’ll be growing a variety of seasonal blooms with the goal of soon offering fresh-cut bouquets locally all grown here in small batches.

I’ll be sharing the process from an empty space to a flourishing garden including what works, what doesn’t, and what it actually takes to grow flowers from the ground up. Expect learning curves, some wins, and probably a few things I accidentally kill along the way.
