Been working on another kitchen and bathroom reno for the last couple month. Trying to get my clients in before Xmas... It's all coming together now!
In a condo setting, there are many obstacles you have to overcome because you have to follow strata bylaws. I am glad that they have them! It protects the owners. However, this creates longer time to get things done.
Also, in renos it's never straight forward as in new construction. First of all, you might be dealing with asbestos when the building is older then 1995. Old plumbing, wiring that is not up to date with new appliances, and the list goes on.
In this situation, there was also no proper fireproofing inbetween the common walls and floors which we found out when we had to open them up for new wiring and plumbing to satisfy the codes. This is where the process takes the longest time, once all the trades work and mine have been passed by the city, it's pretty smooth sailing.
