Meet the Green Acres Team 💚

Around here, Matthew is known as our professional tree waterer 🌳

He has a love for all things trees and shrubs and can often be found making sure they’re happy, healthy, and well cared for. He’s also our resident meteorologist and weather historian. If you want to know what the weather did on a random day five years ago, there’s a good chance Matthew knows.

During the school year, Matthew works with us through the school work program, and many of the beans, squash, sweet peas, cucumbers, and morning glories you take home this season were seeded by him 🌱

He’s also a bit of a chatterbox and keeps the greenhouse team updated on all the important local news including birthdays, babies, and everything in between.

We love Matthew almost as much as he loves his trees! Thank you for being part of the team!

Meet the Green Acres Team 💚

Karen is one of our OGs here at the greenhouse and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things trees, shrubs, and perennials!

When she’s not helping customers or keeping the main greenhouses looking beautiful, you’ll usually find her out in the tree yard sharing advice, answering questions, and helping customers bring their landscaping ideas to life. She’s also part of our yard planning program, helping create outdoor spaces that can be enjoyed for years to come.

We’re so grateful for Karen’s experience, care, and willingness to help. If you see her around the greenhouse, be sure to say hi! 💚

A little Wednesday morning reminder from the greenhouse 💚

This time of year can feel really busy. Sometimes the idea of creating beautiful pots, flower beds, or outdoor spaces feels more overwhelming than inspiring.

This morning I stopped in at the greenhouse before work just to wander and gather a little inspiration for our own backyard. No big master plan. Just noticing what I’m drawn to and letting ideas slowly come together!

And if you don’t have the time or energy to figure it all out yourself this season, that’s okay too. That’s what we’re here for.

Meet the Green Acres Team 💚

Arella is ambitious, and always on the move. On busy days you’ll probably catch her zipping around the greenhouse hauling soil, filling plants, helping customers find what they love, and hopping on the till whenever needed. She is true jack of all trades! 😎

She brings a warm smile and positive energy to the team, and we’re so happy to have her here while she works toward her Occupational Therapy degree at university while studying Kinesiology.
