My advice is this: before you think of starting a project, do yourself a favor by getting a complete drawing of that project before you start. A lot of people make this mistake; they will just tell you, 'Engineer, I don't have money for a plan, please do anything on that land all I need is a place to stay but it's not so.
I am not a big man. Big men no dey pay drawings because drawings have a lot of things to guide you and protect you from future damage.

Please avoid putting Ur plumbing pipe inside columns and beams. It is a significant error in the building process. Columns and beams are designed to carry a load. The presence of pipe inside columns and beams will take up the space that concrete is supposed to occupy, thereby causing a structural defect in the building, since the column is not well reinforced. Why You Should Never Put Pipes Inside Rebar (Column Reinforcement):

This image highlights a major construction error, where PVC pipes are installed inside the vertical column reinforcement (rebar). This practice is structurally dangerous and should be completely avoided. Here's why:

1. Weakened Structural Integrity

Columns are designed to carry loads from the building down to the foundation.

Pipes inside rebar cages displthereby ace concrete,column's reducing the load-car of the column.

This can lead to cracking, buckling, or even collapse under stress.

2. Interrupted Concrete Flow

During casting, concrete is expected to flow and bond around the rebar to form a solid, monolithic structure.

When pipes block that flow, it leads to honeycombs and voids around the rebar, which reduces strength.

3. Corrosion Risk to Rebar

Pipes may develop leaks over time.

Moisture trapped near the steel can cause rusting, which expands and cracks the concrete.

4. Difficult Maintenance

If the pipe gets damaged or blocked, access is nearly impossible without breaking the column, which could compromise the whole building.

5. Violation of Building Codes

Standard engineering practices and building codes strictly prohibit embedding non-structural elements (like pipes) inside primary load-bearing elements.

Correct Alternative:
Run pipes outside the column and encase them in walls or chases.

If passing vertically, create a separate duct or service shaft that won’t interfere with structural elements.
