Led by Fanhao Meng, co-founder and principal architect of line+ studio, the team was commissioned by MEDIINFO I.T. CO., LTD., a leading company in smart healthcare and the health and wellness sector, to design its headquarters through an integrated approach spanning architecture and interiors. As chief architect, Meng directed the project from concept through implementation, coordinating multiple disciplines including architecture, interiors, landscape, façade, and lighting. The project topped out in August 2025 and is currently undergoing façade construction, with completion scheduled for 2027.

The headquarters is not merely a collection of office spaces, but a design practice that transforms the company’s intangible core into a tangible spatial order. line+ studio aims to construct an architectural identity aligned with the enterprise spirit through rational spatial logic, allowing the building to become an urban symbol embodying its core values.

🌿 Fanhao Meng delivered the keynote “Shanshui Form” at Design Shanghai 2026 (March 19–22, Shanghai Exhibition Center).

This year’s theme, “Beyond Sustainability: Designing with Nature”, gathered 500+ brands from 20+ countries and leading design experts to explore how design shapes future societies.

🏛️ Fanhao Meng shared three projects showing how contemporary architecture in China’s Shanshui context responds to the balance between nature and human intervention. His approach treats nature as a continuous whole and uses subtle architectural intervention to organize space and order, rethinking the relationship between natural and artificial.

🌱 This aligns with the conference theme, moving from controlling environmental metrics to fostering ecosystem regeneration and evolution through design. line+studio also contributed local practice experience, engaging in the dialogue between nature, technology, and humans.

🌊Located on Chaishan Island, where only 96 elderly residents remain, the project transforms an abandoned primary school into a warm and welcoming elderly care center-responding tothe realities of population decline and aging communities.

🚢As the finale project of the 10th anniversary of Dream of Decoration V, the building has also become a shared public hub for the island, hosting community meetings, celebrations, and daily gatherings

line+’s New Project CENTRAL ONE Redefines the Value Benchmark of Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City

Designed by Fanhao Meng, co-founder of line+ and lead architect of the project, CENTRAL ONE has quickly become one of the most talked-about residential projects in Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City.

Located on a prime landmark site along Yuhang’s central axis and surrounded by major tech headquarters including DingTalk, ByteDance, and Feishu, the project responds to a new generation of urban residents—young, highly educated, and looking for more than standardized living.

As the only project in Hangzhou to sell out in February, CENTRAL ONE stood out even in a cooling market, achieving a rapid sell-out at a price around RMB 12,000/sqm above the area’s previous price ceiling.

Rather than treating non-standardization as a formal gesture, the design rethinks community living through a three-dimensional public system, fluid spatial experiences, and a new balance between density, nature, and everyday leisure.

From a 5-meter elevated landscape deck and 14,000 sqm public realm, to immersive arrival sequences, rooftop gardens, terraces, pool spaces, and “micro-resort” living scenes, CENTRAL ONE redefines what future urban housing can be.

Located within Shanghai’s “Golden Triangle” with the Bund and Lujiazui, NORTH BUND ONE sits in Tilanqiao — a rare historic enclave where shikumen lanes, dockyard industry, and layered memories remain intact.

Led by Peidong Zhu, line+ adopts a kintsugi-inspired approach — retain, stitch, and insert — transforming historical fragments into a living urban structure rather than restoring or imitating the past.

Northeast China’s First Fourth-Generation Residence

Located at the eastern edge of Donggang, Dalian, along the Yellow Sea, Crest Residence marks the point where the city meets the first light of dawn. Designed by Peidong Zhu, Co-Founder and Chief Architect of line+, the project is shaped by a clear City–Mountain–Sea spatial sequence, envisioning a contemporary residential model rooted in natural coexistence. It is also the first Fourth-Generation Residence in Northeast China.

🌊Reframing the Site
By coordinating the urban road to the north, mountains to the south, and open sea to the east, the design establishes a layered living hierarchy: high-rise residences enjoy expansive sea views, mid-rise buildings open toward the mountains, and lower homes return to gardens and courtyards. Stepped massing along the mountain edge and a landmark tower at the northeast corner shape a distinctive coastal skyline.

🌊A Three-Dimensional Arrival
The site is elevated to form a residential ground plane “above the park.” A landscape-led arrival unfolds from the whale-tail–inspired Cascade of Light, through a double-height lobby and rotunda, toward water features and a sea-view clubhouse—turning daily return into a resort-like journey between mountain and sea.

🌊Fourth-Generation Living
Flexible, boundary-free living spaces blur interior and landscape. Upper-level homes feature open-plan halls with panoramic sea views, while lower units adopt U-shaped terraces embracing nature. Double-height sea-view terraces further expand living possibilities.

🌊Coastal Façade Narrative
Inspired by lighthouses and floating yachts, the façade translates coastal imagery into a sculptural, three-dimensional expression. Panoramic glazing, sunrise-toned metal, matte stone, and sand-hued materials create a relaxed yet refined seaside atmosphere.
