Recent linoleum prints. The entire process is actually a five step process. First I do some small 3x3 or 4x4 inch sketches or doodles just playing around with ideas, second I pick the most promising and idiosyncratic ones and enlarge them to the final size. I might do up to five or six different versions. Again I pick the ones that seem best, draw on the back of the page using the window to get the mirror immage. Transfer the drawing using indigo copy paper on the linoleum. Now comes the cutting part which is really exciting since this is basically the decision making phase what is going to print and which areas are going to remain white. Finally the printing which allows me to manipulate the image by doing double or triple slightly shifted prints. This diminishes a bit the hard edges, doubles some contours making the final print a bit more mysterious and blurred.

Saturday morning thoughts and some recent work you can see in more detail on my website. I do believe artists should talk about their work, who else should? Art critics and self appointed art popes or art philosophers in the social media never really do any noteworthy visual imagery. And the 80/20 percent rule applies also to art, the difference it's only in the changed percentage: let's say 3% of the artists make 97% of the good work. The rest produce of 97% produce 3% good work and the rest is but crap. At the end of the day we do not know if the stuff we produced will have any lasting value beyond our own satisfaction. It might take a century to sift out the art that's going to last...

Recently cut negatives which will be soon printed. I do believe visual art has two components: a message, a human component, no matter how subtle or hidden - I believe art is about the human condition and not only mere decoration or masturbatory smearing around with paint and in the same time a formal clarity, a balanced composition, and a feast for the eye. The next step is obviously printing and this time I am going to print on prepared or with color ink pretinted paper.
