Estonian peat moss can support many horticultural uses, but a country of origin does not by itself define the right product.

Some customers need raw peat for their own local composition. Others need a finished growing medium for propagation, container crops, blueberries, organic production or another defined crop program.

Our latest article looks at the practical decisions between material origin, structure, processing, packaging, technical documentation and realistic trials before larger commercial volumes are ordered.

Perlite is often added to peat-based growing media to support a more open root zone. But the result depends on the full composition and the crop system.

Before choosing a peat and perlite mix, commercial growers should consider the peat fraction, perlite grade, container, irrigation, production period, and whether the product will be used directly or blended locally from raw peat moss.

Our new article explains the practical questions behind that choice.

White, brown and black peat are often discussed as colour categories. In professional growing media, colour alone is not enough.

Peat fraction, decomposition, processing, moisture and the real crop system all influence filling, irrigation, drainage and root-zone behavior.

Our new article explains what professional growers, substrate manufacturers and procurement teams should compare before choosing a peat material or growing-medium direction.

The right growing medium starts with the right question: how will the material be used in production?

Professional growers may need raw peat moss for their own recipe, a base composition for local adjustment, a finished grower mix or a crop-specific product.

The choice can affect:

- filling and handling
- water distribution and dry-down
- air capacity and drainage
- root development and crop uniformity
- irrigation and fertilizer management
- packaging, storage and delivery planning

Our new guide explains what growers and procurement teams should clarify before choosing a growing medium and ordering larger volumes.

Professional growing media production begins with how the product will actually be used.

ASB Professional by ASB Greenworld Eesti OÜ produces raw peat moss and professional growing media in Estonia for commercial horticulture customers.

Depending on the customer's program, this can mean raw peat moss for local recipes or a more complete growing medium with the required peat structure, pH direction, wetting agent, fertilizer, perlite, wood fiber, clay, or other components.

Product quality is only one part of international supply. Packaging, pallet configuration, documentation, storage, lead time, seasonal volume, and delivery planning also have to fit the customer's operation.

Our new article gives a closer look at the production background behind ASB Professional and the information that helps international customers begin a useful product discussion.

Peat moss is a raw material.
A peat substrate is a growing medium designed for a specific crop, container, irrigation system, and production goal.

In professional horticulture, substrate performance depends on more than the peat source. Structure, water behavior, air capacity, pH direction, added components, and handling all matter.

Our new guide looks at how different substrate directions work, including:

- base grower mixes
- peat and perlite grower mixes
- peat and wood fiber mixes
- seed and plug mixes
- high porosity substrates
- organic, coir, bark, and controlled-release fertilizer mixes

Blueberry production needs more than an acidic substrate.

In commercial growing, the right substrate has to support moisture balance, oxygen in the root zone, drainage, structure, and irrigation performance through the full crop cycle.

Our new guide looks at:

- why pH is only the starting point
- how structure affects water and oxygen
- why irrigation water quality matters
- when a raw peat base is different from a finished growing medium

Greetings from Hortitec 2026 in Holambra, Brazil.

ASB Professional is meeting growers, substrate manufacturers, distributors, and professional horticulture companies during one of Latin America’s key horticultural events.

At our stand, visitors can compare different peat and substrate materials and discuss how growing media should fit the real production system.

Every crop is different.

A vegetable grower may need one balance of water retention and air capacity.

A propagation business may need a finer structure.

A substrate manufacturer may need peat moss from Estonia for local blending.

A distributor may need packaging, documentation, and product support for regional customers.

That is why the best conversation starts with a simple question:

What do you need your growing medium to do?

Vegetable crops need more than a generic growing medium.

The right substrate helps growers manage water behavior, air capacity, root development, crop uniformity, and production timing.

For commercial greenhouse programs, substrate choice should fit the crop workflow:

- young plants and propagation
- herbs and leafy greens
- tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and longer-cycle crops
- finished mixes or in-house blending programs

Our new article explains what matters when choosing a substrate for vegetables and how growers can test fit before scaling.

Baltic peat moss is not only about where the peat comes from.

For larger horticulture programs, buyers also need to understand how structure, moisture condition, processing, packaging, and logistics will affect the final growing medium in real production.

Our new article explains:

- why origin alone is not enough
- how peat structure changes performance
- what larger buyers should confirm before scaling
- how raw peat and finished growing media differ
