Can IATA Help Exporters Secure Their Payments?

One of the biggest concerns in export is ensuring customer payment. Many exporters rely on Letters of Credit (LCs) or pay commissions to assurance banks for financial protection.

While researching safer payment solutions, a colleague mentioned that IATA (International Air Transport Association) offers tools to improve logistics security, such as:

*CASS (Cargo Account Settlement System) – manages payments between airlines and freight forwarders.
*IATA-FIATA Program – sets clear frameworks between exporters and freight agents.
*Cargo Insurance – reduces risks during air transport.

But can these tools really secure payments for exporters?
Based on what applies in markets, IATA helps with logistics, but payment security still relies mainly on LCs, bank guarantees, or credit insurance.
