Getting very disheartened doing craft markets. Seems that people attending are only interested in buying cakes, sweets or 'tat' that stall holders have bought off Temu or Home Bargains and then reselling.
Not sure what I can do to encourage people to even look at the items on my stall. Everything is handmade by me and priced according to material cost, my skills and time taken (ticket prices are usually material costs x 2 or 3 depending on complexity). I don't even mark up the hourly rate to the price otherwise they would be too expensive.
I know times are tough but seems people would rather buy something at a cheaper price that falls apart after one or two washes than spend a little more on something that will last for years, if looked after properly.
