Sian Shaw Artist Fine art and comtempory media, I have a formal background in painting, drawing and printmaking. There are no rules on surface or size!!!

Fascinated with the qualities of fabric and thread I started experimenting with line and texture using these mediums. This can cause controversy and"close mindedness" but to me...art is about learning, communicating,questioning and exploring....asking the question"what if?"...not close mindedness. Inspiration comes from the exploration of a thought, feeling or idea largely stimulated by the natur

al world. I aim for a visually rich surface and employ varios processes to create this. Paint, charcoal, pencil,wax, stitch, fabric, metal...if it grabs my imagination...will find their way into my work. I am process led and the work develops in layers, using a mixture of media that is consistent with my aesthetic of the image often incorporating found objects and ephemera. I may shift and change as I work, all the time thinking texture, colour and line.
