We had a tidy up this weekend and got rid of all the odds and sods left over. We also distributed the spare stones around the waters edge, and secured the duck house in the centre.
However, we may need some more rocks to finish all the way around.
Thanks for all the help provided by volunteers, and support from local users.

Just a quick update on our pond. We have completed the lining stage and have established its working height. The central soakaway has been cleaned out and is working as it should.
On this occasion the central ring is not visible due to the water level. When this happens the soakaway is still working but the water table has risen and the ground saturated. Within a few hours the water drains away in the middle and over time it dries out. It then maintains a safe height well below street level.
The next stage is planting up of marginal pond plants and some deep water plants. We are taking advice on the most suitable ones that are particularly non invasive.

This is how the pond will be operating in future. Its still in the restoration phase, with much to do to finish the landscaping. But we needed rain to bed in the liner.
