It's been a fabulous Summer, so you've probably not thought about your heating for a few months, but Autumn is on the way. There's still time to get your boiler serviced before you really need to rely on it.

There are many advantages to booking an annual boiler inspection with a Gas Safe registered engineer, including:

Just resharing this as seeing lots of posts about boilers not working.

Morning lovely people. Just a quick bit of advice if your boiler has stopped working in these cold temperatures it’s possibly due to your condense pipe being frozen externally. In the short term pour hot water over the pipe to unfreeze the ice. Long term is to upgrade to min 32mm pipe and insulation around it. Please if your still struggling give me a call but please be patient as this is an extremely busy period. Keep safe everyone. 😊

Well we are well and truly into heating season and it’s been really busy again which is great.

This little Timelapse video is of one of the boilers I look after each year as part of a landlords gas safety inspection.
The boilers always get serviced to manufacturer’s instructions rather than just a visual inspection which is the minimum requirement for a landlords safety inspection.

Basically the boiler was loosing pressure and after checking the expansion vessel which was fine and replacing the pressure relief valve as I suspected it was passing water.
I found the main heat exchanger had pin holed and the heating water was passing straight down the condense pipework and then onto the drain. This is why I couldn’t find any evidence of a leak.

Having issues with your boiler doesn’t always mean we need to replace it unless it is uneconomical to repair.
