I know the weekend was very blustery for us but I managed to get out and about and ended up in Pakefield on Saturday, where the light was fantastic. So there I sat with my glass of wine and pkt of crisps and enjoyed the view!
Back to knitting today! X

MONDAY 17 JUNE IS JUST A CARD DAY - The day of BIG NEWS! I’m and I set up this campaign to encourage people to support, value and buy from artists, designers, independent shops and small businesses. It’s tough being an independent. It’s also richly rewarding, not just to independents themselves, but also to the wider community. I’ve worked almost everyday on this for 4 years. For the first 1.5 yrs no one listened. Then I was joined by our ace (mainly volunteer) team and their spirit and friendship helped so much. Then, some months ago I questioned whether we could go on. The workload is relentless but I didn’t want to stop as I love this community so much and was convinced we could really make the world sit up and listen. It saddens me enormously when an independent closes, not because people don’t love them, but because people don’t realise that a sale, however small, is so vital. •

People say our campaign is making a big difference, and this is wonderful, but we need to preach beyond the converted so the wider world thinks JUST A CARD when they go into a shop, craft/design fair or Open studio so they can consider, if they love that shop etc as much as they say they do, what an impact their choice to buy will have. I nearly gave up JAC because it’s also so costly to run which is very stressful. The only income we have is money we raise - from pin and sticker sales. •

Fast forward 7 months and thanks to a chance (!!) meeting with FANTASTIC JUST A CARD is about to break some REALLY BIG NEWS. It’s predicted over ONE MILLION people will see this.....and How incredible is this?! ....RICHARD E GRANT .e.grant (seen here wearing his JUST A CARD pin !!) is part of it. What a true star he is for helping to make the world a better place. I’m both hugely excited and a bag of nerves about Monday. I so hope you’ll all be part of it. We have an incredible community here and your creativity, passion and commitment is an inspiration. Thank You for everything you do to support & share the JUST A CARD message, as we say every day. You are AMAZING! Will you be joining us on Monday?

I received my newly designed jewellery cards on Saturday, so I spent an hour or two adding my jewellery to them, and guess what...I'm loving them!
Just waiting for the stud earing cards to arrive and I will be organised...I think! x

I am busy getting ready to sell my jewellery at Woottens of Wenhaston on Sunday the 5th of May.
I have just been sticking the backs on to some stud earings in readiness...I'm really looking forward to attending ...hope I sell some!

I will be selling at Woottens of Wenhaston on Sunday the 5th of May, so I thought I would design some plant pot earings!
I am a bit new to making jewellery but I feel quite happy with these!I am just waiting for some more jewellery findings to arrive and then these will be turned into earrings and a brooch!

I've baked them and I've varnished them and now they are ready to be made wearable!
