While we despise the practice of not washing your hands after going to the bathroom, but this gave us a giggle (albeit, I'm sure there are some characters who do indeed follow some of these measures).

As men, we all know the truth: we don’t really need to wash our hands after going to the toilet. But for some reason, women insist we do - citing so-called disproved pseudo-science ‘hygiene’ concerns, …

🚻 Male Hygiene Matters – Let’s Talk About It.

Every day, 144 men in the UK are diagnosed with prostate cancer — that’s more than 52,000 each year. (Source: Prostate Cancer UK)

Yet in most public male washrooms, there are no appropriate facilities for those managing incontinence or stoma care to dispose of their sanitary waste safely and with dignity.

At NI Washrooms, we’re proud to partner with Cancer Focus NI to change that. Through our campaign, we’re installing and maintaining Male Hygiene Bins — and 100% of the customer charge (excl. VAT) goes directly to Cancer Focus NI to fund vital counselling and support services for men living with prostate cancer.

💙 Support that’s discreet, practical, and meaningful.

By joining this initiative, you:
✔ Provide a dignified solution for men in need
✔ Support local cancer services in Northern Ireland
✔ Champion real change in your workplace or venue

🩸🚨 There’s Glyphosate in Tampons?! Yes, you read that right.

A new investigation by The Guardian just revealed that some tampons sold in the UK contain glyphosate — a pesticide linked to cancer — at levels 40x higher than what’s allowed in drinking water.
Let that sink in.

And the worst part? There are no regulations in the UK forcing brands to disclose this.

💥 So what can you do?
Switch to products you can trust.
At NI Washrooms, we stock period care that’s clean, organic and transparent — like Selenei.

🌱 100% Organic Cotton
🚫 No pesticides, chlorine or perfumes
🧼 Hypoallergenic & dermatologically tested
🐰 Vegan & cruelty-free
🌍 Plastic-free, biodegradable packaging

📝 We just dropped a blog post breaking it all down – from the dangers in mainstream tampons to how Selenei is changing the game.

💧🚽 Big changes can start in the most unexpected places... like the loos!

We’re proud to have helped Finnebrogue , one of the UK’s most innovative food producers, take a major step towards their sustainability goals. 🌍

By switching to our waterless urinal systems, they’ve saved over 6.6 million litres of water a year – that’s enough to fill nearly three Olympic swimming pools! 🏊‍♂️

✅ Saving them over £26,000 annually
✅ No odours or blockages
✅ Helping them hit their target of cutting water intensity by 20% by 2030

Sometimes smart sustainability isn’t flashy – it’s just common sense. 💡

A massive thanks to the Finnebrogue team for trusting NI Washrooms to deliver real results.

🧐 Ever wondered how waste can be transformed into something incredibly useful? Let's talk about sugarcane toilet rolls! 🧻 Made from the sugarcane pulp, a by-product of sugar manufacturing, these rolls are a prime example of .

Not only are these rolls super soft, thanks to the short fibre length, but they also dissolve in just four seconds after flushing – yes, we've tested it! 🚽

🎉 We’re Proud to Support Men’s Health This Movember! 🎉

This month, we’re shining a light on an issue that often goes unnoticed but affects thousands of men every day: the lack of hygiene bins in male toilets.

Did you know that 6.5 million people in the UK live with bowel-related conditions? For men, especially those recovering from prostate cancer or living with incontinence, there’s rarely a safe and discreet way to dispose of waste products like pads, pouches, stoma or catheter bags in public toilets.

That’s why we’ve partnered with to launch the campaign!

🚻 We’re rolling out Male Hygiene Bins to make male toilets inclusive and supportive. These bins are provided and maintained by us, with 100% of the customer charge (excluding VAT) donated directly to Cancer Focus NI. This helps fund their incredible work providing counselling and support groups for local men affected by prostate cancer.

💙 Why it matters:

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide, affecting almost 500,000 men in the UK.
1 in 3 men over 65 live with incontinence, and many struggle with the stigma that comes with it.
Male hygiene bins provide dignity, reduce stigma, and help tackle these challenges head-on.

💡 How can you help?

By supporting the campaign, you’re not just improving facilities—you’re making a real difference to men’s lives and helping raise awareness for men’s health.

📲 Want to get involved or learn more? Visit: www.niwashrooms.com/boysneedbins

Together, we can create more inclusive spaces for men and make this Movember one to remember.
