One of the best bits of being a gardener is the satisfaction that comes from watching things you plant and maintain growing strong. Tomato plants put in a couple of weeks ago are starting to fruit - the taste & smell of homegrown tomatoes puts mass produced, flavourless supermarket toms in the shade 🍅

Do the Chelsea chop to prevent the flop!

Sedums (Hylotelephium) have a tendency to flop in high Summer or windy conditions - they get leggy if they are not carefully pruned before flowering. The Chelsea chop means removing 1/3 to 1/2 of growth around the time of the Chelsea Flower Show (late May / early June) to encourage bushier growth and less summer flopping. It also delays flowering so you can enjoy more flowers later in the Season. This also applies to penstemon, phlox, helenium & asters 👏🏻
