Recent patio and gate replacement and new steps.

Creating a compacted sub-base to provide the base for the new paving.

Used Raj sandstone paving laid in a random pattern.

New steps constructed from concrete block and sandstone treads.

5* Google review: New fencing at the front of the house was done cleanly and quickly despite the hot weather. Good communication via WhatsApp with updates and final photos. In the back garden I asked for new turf which again has been done quickly and to a lovely finish. Very happy with service and final results.

Would 100% recommend for any work!

Thanks S for your review 😊

We love it when clients send us photos of their finished gardens, especially showing what a useable space it is! What you can't see here is the stunning estury view to the left.

The porcelaine patio and steps are laid on a full wet mortar bed and cement-based grout.

As the snowdrops and crocuses starting to poke through, we see the birds returning for their winter feed, remember to break the ice on your bird bath and hang out high energy suet balls.

February is a time for pruning with purpose! Trim back the winter flowering shrubs that have finished. The wisteria especially needs pruning to keep it tidy and ensure the flowers don't get hidden by the leaves.

Get your spring tasks done like mulching, soil preparation, and plant early spring bulbs. One job will be to net the fruit and vegetables as they start to grow, pigeons love them. You may not see pigeons feeding on plants, as they often visit in early morning.

Towards the end of February, just after sunset – roughly 20 to 45 minutes later – watch as a delicate waxing crescent moon follows the sun’s path across the winter sky. This is a time to reflect and look forward to the Spring equinox next month.

Welcome to January, often cited as the coldest month; many parts of the UK have experienced snow of some amount and keeping cosy and warm has undoubtedly been high on the agenda!

If you haven't already this month in the garden, it's time to look at your apple and pear trees. Pruning fruit trees correctly will be the difference between good and failed crops. Winter is the best time to prune when the leaves are off the tree. You are looking to prune around 10%-20% evenly off of the canopy. Too much, and you risk upright watershoots.

If you don't feel confident or want expert help, call us. Toby is experienced in the correct techniques for getting the most out of your fruit trees.

With the snow and cold, the birds still need care. Fastballs and mealworms seem to be firm favourites in our garden.

Starting to plan garden projects is fun, from planting displays and vegetables to complete hard landscaping and design. Feel free to message us if you'd like to chat about getting some ideas and help.

Do you have a Christmas tree still sitting in the garden for recycling? How about repurposing it? The Wildlife Trust has lots of ideas, including turning it into a critter home or using the fronds for mulch. Take a look https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/blog/re-purposing-your-real-christmas-tree

We are booking into March now, so if you'd like your garden works done for Spring time, now is the time to contact us.

Wishing all of our customers, friends and followers a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

With all the storms we have been having recently one job you really do need to do over the festive period is to checkthe winter protection for both structures and plants is still in place and secured well.

As we head into January we are going to be seeing more frosts and freezing weather. Insulate your taps and pipes with foam or even wrap them with a towel to help them from freezing. Add a layer of insulating to your above gound ponds too.

If you haven't already its time to harvest the last of your root crops! Who had their own brussels or parsnips with the Christmas dinner?!

One of or favourite dates in the astronomical calendar occurred this week, the Winter Solstice and with it ,the promise of lighter evenings and longer days!
