We once received a locksmith's message saying the work wasn’t for him.

He said he’d finish the job he had booked, but after that he was stepping away.

Instead of leaving it there, we asked what had actually happened.

It turned out he’d hit a run of jobs that knocked his confidence.

We talked it through, pointed him towards support and training.

He stayed.

He’s still with us now, and he’s one of the most reliable people in the team.

What makes Specialised Locksmiths different?

Our team understands the industry we work in.

That means understanding timelines.
Urgency.
Sensitivity.
Legality.

And the consequences when things don’t go to plan.

This isn’t residential work where turning up late costs nothing.

In enforcement, warrant and insolvency work, delays matter.

Missed access matters.
Getting it wrong matters.

Our team turns up on time.

Every time.

They arrive with the stock and tools needed to do the job properly, not half of it and a trip to Screwfix afterwards.

They also prepare for what isn’t on the job sheet.

Shutters that weren’t mentioned.

Non standard doors.

Access issues that only appear once you’re on site.

That level of preparation is why our team is trusted on jobs where there isn’t room for second attempts.

During lockdown, one of our locksmiths got a call from a residential client.

When he arrived, she asked, “Are you managing to stay busy? I know Covid has wreaked havoc on many businesses.”

“Oh yeah,” he replied, “we’re key workers.”

She just stared at him, deadpan.

And there he was, expecting a barrel of laughs.

Not every locksmith understands enforcement work.

And when they don’t, it creates problems that shouldn’t exist in the first place.

We’ve seen situations where entry couldn’t be gained because the locksmith didn’t arrive with the right equipment.

Others where doors, shutters, or locking systems were damaged unnecessarily, when the property could have been opened without destruction.

And situations where no records were left behind. No photos. No clear audit trail. Nothing to show what was done or why.

Enforcement work isn’t the same as a standard locksmith call-out.

It sits within a legal process. It requires the right approach, the right preparation, and the right understanding of what’s involved.

When it’s done correctly, the process moves forward the way it’s supposed to.

We built our own system so our clients can see exactly what’s happening with every job.

From the moment it’s allocated, they can track it live.

They can see when it’s been accepted. When the locksmith is on site. Whether access has been gained. What’s been secured.

And they’ll have the photos and records there once it’s done.

They don’t need to ring us for updates or chase to find out what’s going on.

It’s all there.

Most of the companies we work with want to know where they stand on cost before they give the instruction.

That’s how we work.

We’ll agree the price upfront based on the information provided, so there’s clarity from the start.

If something different is found on site, it gets discussed first. Nothing just gets added on afterwards without that conversation happening.

It means there’s no confusion once the job’s done, and no awkward conversations after the fact.

A lot of locksmith companies don’t attend their own work.

They subcontract it.

Then that subcontractor passes it to someone else. And sometimes it gets passed again.

By the time someone arrives at the property, they can be three or four layers removed from the company that was originally instructed.

The client doesn’t know them. The person who gave the instruction doesn’t know them. And if something goes wrong, nobody wants to take responsibility for it.

It’s a broken chain.

And the locksmith at the bottom gets paid peanuts.

The companies we work with know exactly who they’re instructing.

And they know exactly who’s turning up.

Our locksmiths don’t just deal with the lock.

A lot of the time they’re attending enforcement and repossession jobs where the situation can be tense before the door is even opened.

They’re trained to assess what’s in front of them, both technically and personally. Knowing how to gain entry is one part of it. Knowing how to handle the environment they’ve walked into is another.

Staying calm. Reading the situation. Giving the enforcement team what they need so the process can move forward.

It’s work that requires more than just tools and locksmithing skills.

In 2025, we gained access to over 11,000 properties.

Homes, shops, flats, industrial units. Some straightforward. Others not.

Out of all of them, we achieved a 99% access rate.

That figure matters because every one of those instructions came with a reason behind it. Someone waiting outside. A process that couldn’t move forward until the door was open.

It’s the result of experience, patience, and knowing how to approach the job the right way.

And it’s a standard we expect to carry forward into this year.

These accreditations are in place for a reason.

The companies we work with need to know they’re instructing someone they can trust. Not just to gain entry, but to secure properties, protect assets, and handle situations where there’s real accountability attached.

That’s why the business has gone through the process of getting these in place.

It gives our clients confidence that when they hand something over to us, it’s being dealt with by people who take that responsibility seriously.
