Someone decided to build a wall on one side for the neighbours which isn’t built very well but has to stay so I’m busy building the other side for an old gentleman who’s just happy to see it being built after it’s stood for over 2 years.

Stone wall needs some work/ repairs to finish , hopefully done tomorrow and the homeowner can have his garden back to normal.

Another job were the customer is having problems with water / damp getting into the kitchen so I hacked the pebble dash ...

Another job were the customer is having problems with water / damp getting into the kitchen so I hacked the pebble dash off to expose the lintel too see what was going on , found the lintel with a big crack through it which needs to be took out and replaced with a new lintel and a new cavity tray so patched the lintel up for tonight and will be putting acrows in and getting this sorted for them tomorrow.

A little job were the the person was getting damp in the kitchen which was happening becuase of a mortar build up in the cavity ( circled in 2nd photo ) which was bridging the dpc , cut out bricks , removed mortar and rebuilt brickwork which has now solved the issues.

Went to have a look at this for an old gentleman who was getting water in his kitchen and this is what another company had done.

shocking as the tray wasn’t installed into the inner leaf , the tray was short and should have been longer and turned up into the perp joint past either side of the window and the tray didn’t even come past the top of the frame which they’d then sealed behind a trim on the face of the window frame so water had no way of getting out anyway brickwork was also poorly built .

Installed a new lintel and correctly installed the tray hopefully solving the issues for him.

This is the 2nd location for another big concrete slab we’ve done for more heating units with the acoustic wall panels up and some pin kerbs + a path for access to it. this one had even more steel in it which we think is over engineered quite a lot for what’s on the slab but we installed what they wanted so all finished well.

Another project I’ve worked on recently. had loads of sub base to put in so had to have the bomb inspector there in case...

Another project I’ve worked on recently.

had loads of sub base to put in so had to have the bomb inspector there in case we found anything while digging out. We had loads of steel to form on this job which took a few days alone , luckily we found nothing but had a map of the bombs locations in the area just in case . This was for some new tech large heating units to heat a large building but didn’t get pictures of this one finished but have a 2nd one we’ve done that we will post pics of next.

Update.

We got the scaffold up and finished this extension 2 weeks ago , scaffold is down and roof is now on the rear kitchen extension which means it’s all watertight ready for the customer to start all the internal works.

He says it looks good with the scaffold down so another happy customer.

Another extension we’ve been working on recently which has been a bit of a challenge with the brickwork on the existing house being nowhere near standard gauge 😩 but we’ve picked up or grinded down where necessary and got it running in more or less perfect, more pictures to follow when nearing completion 👍
